Description of touristic objects:
Vyzhenka village
Vyzhenka is the center of green tourism in Bukovina. A picturesque place with charming Carpathian landscapes is known among tourists from the XIX century. The village is located in the valley of the mountain of the same name Vyzhenka. There are two churches built in the traditional Hutsul style in the village - the Ukrainian Church of St. John of Suceava (1792) with a bell tower and the Russian Church of St. Nicholas, built 1920 on the place of the old one. Next to it is a chapel, on the wall of which there are inscriptions-murmurs of local peasants to serfdom since 1821. The holy place of the Jewish (Hasidic) community is nearby. According to legend, the famous founder of Hasidism Baal Shem Tov (Besht), who lived in Kuty and went to solitude and pray to the Dovbush cave, bathed here. The local Hutsul cuisine will also leave you indifferent. The pleasure of clean air in the primeval nature, the silence that swells like a string, and the fascination with the unique traditional lifestyle - is guaranteed to all! Before the First World War Vyzhenka was a popular Austro-Hungarian resort. The village is the gateway to the famous Nimchich Pass.
Vyzhnytsia
It is a historic place where the majesty of the mountains and the beauty of landscapes fascinates. Here the rapids of Cheremosh river compete with the river Prut. The town of Vyzhnytsya is located 80 km away from Chernivtsi, on the border of Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. The name of the town means "upper". In the medieval times it was part of Moldavian principality, from 1774 - 1918 - part of Austrian and Austro-Hungarian empire. between the 2 World Wars Vyzhnytsya has been the border-town of Romania with neighbour Poland. It has been significant in that time due to its large Jewish population. The place is the birthplace of the world-famous vocal-instrumental ensemble "Smerichka" by Levko Dutkivsky, whose soloists were Nazariy Yaremchuk, Vasil Zinkevich, Sofia Rotaru, and the young composer Volodya Ivasyuk, who wrote the popular "Chervona ruta". By the way, the town has a functioning museum-estate of Nazariy Yaremchuk. Among other well-known citizents of Vyzhnytsia - Temistocle Virsta and Joseph Burg. On the outskirts of the town there is the wooden church of St. Dmitry - a model of the Hutsul three-domed temples. In the centre of the town there are: former Vyzhnytsia synagogue (present "House of culture"), Roman-Catholic church of St. Anna, St. Michael Orthodox church. After all, Vyzhnytsya is also a historical center of the Hasidic dynasty and folk arts and crafts (embroidery, carving, Easter eggs, embossing, weaving). It is also worth visiting the Vyzhnytsya Museum of Folk and Applied Arts to make sure that Vyzhnytsya has been famous for its fair traditions since the 18th century.
